Adrienne Cameron is a mixed-media artist, a former academic cultural historian, business strategist and entrepreneur. She studied in both Australia and UK, completing her MFA at Norwich University of the Arts in 2017.
Cameron's art practice has explored the relationship between the experience of landscape and the formation of core elements of identity, and how that identity may be reshaped by migration or dislocation in the nation state. Recent work reflects on child sexual abuse, and on the poetics and politics of urban spaces. Concern about the toxic effects of microplastics and sorbed chemicals on the environment informs her present work, particularly their potential to disrupt normal human growth and reproduction. · 2017 Group show, The London Group Open 2017, The Cello Factory, London, UK 2017 Outpost Members Show, Norwich, UK 2017 Group show, Tribe17 International Art Show, OXO Bargehouse, London 2017 Group MA show, Norwich University of the Arts, Norwich, UK 2017 Group show, Glimpses of Glory, The Hostry, Norwich, UK 2017 Arte Laguna Prize group exhibition, Venice, Italy 2017 Group show, Fountain17, Hull City of Culture, London, & Stoke Biennial, UK (travelling exhibition opening Hull, 1 April 2017) 2016 Solo show, Encountering relocation, St Mary's Works, Norwich, UK · 2016 Group show, Oppression, St James Place, Norwich, UK 2016 Group show, Interim, NUA, Norwich, UK · 2015 Group show, Kaleidoscope, Stew Gallery, Norwich, UK 2018 Selected for ZK/U Urban Infrastructure residency, Berlin 2017 Selected, Schauerman Prize for Digital Art, London, UK (juried) 2017 Shortlisted Sidney Nolan Trust Studentship, UK (juried) 2017 Finalist, Sculpture, Arte Laguna Prize, Venice, Italy (juried) 2017 Finalist, Sculpture, Bishop's Prize, Norwich, UK (juried) 2017 Shortlisted, Jerwood Visual Arts Artist Bursary, UK (juried) 2016 Finalist, Sculpture, Fountain17 competition, UK (juried) · 2016 Gallery 13a, Norwich residency, UK 2016 St Mary's Works, Norwich residency, UK |
